Hollywood has its fair share of movie releases in 2023, with some really great creations. We saw movies like Barbie and Oppenheimer where people waited for months for their release and then others like Super Mario Bros and Spider Man: Across the Spider Verse, which also moved the audience quite a lot. Barbie
Awarded the most anticipated movie of all time, Barbie was easily the highest grossing film of the year. Needless to say, it depicts the life of Barbie(s) and Ken(s) and how they cross the line between realms and enter the real world. Starring the gorgeous Margot Robbie as protagonist, Barbie and Ryan Gosling as her Ken, it is quite the watch with all the comic relief and the thought-provoking scenes. The Super Mario Bros Movie
This movie is one based on the game and is quite loved by Super Mario fans worldwide. As the second highest grossing movie of 2023, this movie narrates the story of two brothers, Mario and Luigi. They are transported to a magical new world through a mysterious pipe while fixing a water main. However, the brothers get separated in this new world and that is where the story begins.
Spider Man- Across the Spider Verse:
The last in the Spider man series till now, this movie saw Miles, the friendly neighborhood spiderman getting pitted against several other spiders when he enters the Multiverse. He has to come up with new ways to save his loved ones while also saving the Multiverse. He is also reunited with Gwen Stacy in this and the story takes a new turn. This is the second of the comic films created in the Spider man series and the audience seems to like these as much as the other ones. Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 3:
Another one from the Marvel franchise, this also did not disappoint the fans. The story sees Starlord, in a dejected state after the loss of Gamora. But the main character in this film is the raccoon named Rocket. This movie explores his life and how he almost dies while saving the others. The movie is a classic Marvel and it is a great watch.
Oppenheimer:
The Nolan release of the year and a worthy competitor to Barbie. This movie was released on the same day as the latter and, with a whopping plot, made its way into the top grossing list. The story relays the invention of the atomic bomb and the life of the scientist, Oppenheimer, who did it. Needless to say, the plot, the graphics of Nolan’s creation are always unparalleled.
This remains the list of the top 5 Hollywood movies of 2023 till date. The year end might still bring a few good ones, but these will remain on the list of best movies this year.
